This stuff absolutely works and offers huge piece of mind. We've had to use it twice on a puppy who was able to inhale chocolate on two occasions where their human look away for two seconds. A huge mistake and lesson learned for the human, but also having this for such human mistakes was a lifesaver. One tube covers 30 ln in weight, so be sure to purchase enough to cover the weight of all babies in your home, in case it's a team effort to ingest something bad. All in all I'm so thankful for this product.

Key Ingredients +

Activated charcoal (from coconut shells) — a highly porous carbon that helps bind toxins in the digestive tract before they cross into the bloodstream.

Kaolin clay — a food-grade clay that helps soothe the stomach and adds extra binding support.

No artificial colors, no fillers, no preservatives. Made in USA FDA-registered, cGMP-audited facility.

When to use +

PetRecue should be given the second you realize your dog ate something toxic. The faster you can give PawMergency, the more toxins it can absorb. Immediately follow up with your vet or animal poison control.

How it works +

When your dog ingests something toxic, Petrescue activated charcoal binds to the toxin molecules in the gut before they’re absorbed into the bloodstream. The kaolin clay adds a second layer of binding and soothes the GI tract.

Together, they help your dog's body pass the toxins out via the stool. It buys you time while you get to the vet.

What toxins if it works on +

Activated charcoal helps bind many common household toxins, including chocolate, human medications, rat poison, THC, grapes/raisins, certain plants, onions, and caffeine. It does not bind heavy metals, alcohols, or petroleum products.

Vet Reviewed by +

PetRescue is endorsed by a 3 Veterinary Advisory Panel with over 60 years of combined experience: Dr. Wendy Asato, Dr. Kylie Galla, and Dr. Joseph Menicucci. All three reviewed the formulation, safety protocol, and consumer-facing claims.

The Toxin Binder

Made from coconut shells and activated at high heat, this charcoal is packed with millions of microscopic pores. That gives it a massive surface area that traps certain toxins in the gut before they can be absorbed into the bloodstream. Coconut shell charcoal is considered a premium, cleaner source compared to wood or coal-based charcoal.

The Gut Soother

  • Soothes an upset stomach
  • Helps firm up loose stools
  • Gentle and naturally occuring

What Happens When You Use PetRescue

  1. First 15 Minutes

    Act Fast

    • Activated charcoal reaches the stomach and starts binding certain toxins
    • Bound toxins get trapped before they can be absorbed into the bloodstream
    • Call your vet or ASPCA Animal Poison Control (888-426-4435)
  2. 1 to 6 Hours

    Containing the Threat

    • Charcoal keeps binding toxins as it moves through the digestive tract
    • Less of the toxin reaches the bloodstream, buying your vet valuable time
    • Watch for vomiting, tremors, or lethargy and follow your vet's guidance on repeat doses
  3. 24 to 48 Hours

    Clearing It Out

    • Charcoal and the toxins it captured pass naturally in the stool
    • Black stools are normal and expected
    • Keep fresh water available and check in with your vet for follow-up care

Got Questions? We've Got Answers

How does activated charcoal actually work? +

It binds toxins inside the gut before they can be absorbed into the bloodstream. The bound toxins are then eliminated safely through your pet's stool.

Which toxins does it cover? +

Chocolate, grapes and raisins, caffeine, human medications, rat poison, THC, toxic plants, mushrooms, cane toad poison, nicotine, moldy food, household chemicals, blue-green algae, onions, and garlic.

When should I use it? +

The moment you suspect ingestion. Do not wait for symptoms. If you have questions, contact your veterinarian or the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center first.

Is it safe for cats? +

Yes. It is dosed by weight for dogs and cats of all breeds and sizes.

How is this different from hydrogen peroxide +

Hydrogen peroxide works by forcing vomiting, which can cause esophageal burns, gastric ulcers, and aspiration pneumonia. PetRescue binds toxins instead, with no vomiting needed.

Can my pet take it with medications? +

Ask your veterinarian, since charcoal can bind medications as well as toxins.

What if my pet is picky? +

Give it straight from the tube, or mix it with food or a favorite treat.

How long does one tube last? +

Two years. Recap after use, store in a cool dry place, and it is ready for the next emergency.

How much do I give? +

1mL per 1lb of bodyweight. Under 15 lbs: half a tube. 16 to 30 lbs: one tube. 31 to 60 lbs: two tubes. 61 to 90 lbs: three tubes. 91 to 150 lbs: five tubes. When in doubt, round up.
